Senior Education Ministries, Inc., and the village of Tuscola are offering a monthly program in which seniors can “Dine with a Doc,” enjoying a free meal while gaining knowledge and getting answers from an area health professional.
The program features a doctor, a lunch sponsor, area businesses, an area church and senior citizens coming together to increase the activity, knowledge and fellowship of the senior community with the goal of improving quality of life. No money is needed. Seniors will receive a free lunch while a doctor shares knowledge and answers your questions. Door prizes will be awarded.
An additional free perk at each event is a Wellness Clinic, in which Lincolnland Home Care and Hospice will provide blood pressure checks.
The event takes place the fourth Thursday of every month, except November and December when it switches to the third Thursday. It runs from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Jarman Center (704 N. Main St.) in Tuscola. This month’s event is April 22.
Reservations for Dine with a Doc are required and can be made by calling the Jarman Center at (217) 253-2325. Seating is limited due to COVID-19 restrictions. You will be put on a waitlist if all seats are filled.
Dine with a Doc also has programs in other parts of Central Illinois, including Champaign-Urbana. Click here for more information.
